Someone I love and admire is fading away by inches. I can't stop it, and the only way to help is to keep smiling, and teasing, and breathing. Oh, Papa.
My grandparents are my definition of love. I have never seen two people so balanced by each other, so delighted by each other, so focused on the other's happiness. They are breaking my heart.

Ma'am, you need to calm down
Mar. 10th, 2007 10:27 pmSo, it may be actually possible to metaphorically drown yourself.
Sigh.
I do, however, now have a fantastic and enormous painted fan for my wall, and have seen Pan's Labryrinth three times. I love that movie. Which, really, is one of the most ridiculous words in the English language, if you think about it. Movie. Because they're pictures that move. Isn't that so clever? I keep seeing in my head little cartoon people from the '20s (or whenever cinematography was invented) gesturing to each other excitedly with lots of waving arms, exclaiming, "Why yes, Gertrude, pictures that move! We shall call them movies! It's brilliant!"
Sometimes slang is just so embarrassing.

love strikes my heart
Jan. 12th, 2007 01:27 amThe newest Winsor McCay collection just came in the mail today, and may I just say HALLELUJAH AMEN.
The book is newsprint size! Newsprint. Size.
And the color, god, the COLOR, and the quality...
I have no words. Only small crazy noises of joy.
Winsor McCay for the win!

Oct. 11th, 2006 12:41 amOh, today was ridiculous. Like a parody of a bad day from a sitcom or... something. I don't even know. Have you ever had a day so colossally, awesomely, snowballingly bad that it doesn't even seem plausible?
I just, okay, here.
( Fun! )
As we drove home, I turned to my dad and said, "I don't care how out of the way it is. All I want out of life right now is a chocolate shake."
...in what I now realize was exactly, completely Rodney McKay's voice.
...and possibly with his scowly face of righteousness. Huh.
Also, hi internet! Long time no use!

Mar. 15th, 2006 10:54 amHEY HEY LISTEN - it rained on Saturday! *shock and awe*
So the ridiculous 143 day drought has officially been killed by the magic water that falls from the sky, which means it's time to dance our praises to the wonderful wonderful clouds that finally, FINALLY rained on us. Oh yes, great and powerful Sky Above, today we dance for thee and thee alone.
Everybody boogie!
Also, Monday ended up as one of the best days ever. Why? Some fooling around in class, and voila! I am no longer intimidated by painting. And apparently portrait drawing is crazy fun, which is another point for this whole 'art' thing. Yay!

pop goes the livejournal
Aug. 18th, 2005 08:05 pmMmm, finally broke down and got myself livejournaled. Okay, two things to open this baby up : today I discovered oneword.com and fell in lust, and today I read an SGA fic called Down To You that blew my mind. It is, in fact, the reason I finally livejournaled, because I wanted to comment on the story so badly - I did, only anonymously - and my frustration knocked down the proverbial camel. So thank you, mousewitchy, for your lovely story and unintentional motivation.
